Matt Piccone
Project Assistant
Matt is originally from the Philadelphia area, and has lived in Portland since 2008. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor in Architecture, and has since worked at architecture firms and home builders in PA, Phoenix, and Portland. During his time in Phoenix, he has worked on several university buildings and a public library. While in Portland, he has worked on the University of Oregon Basketball Arena and a mid-rise tower. He is currently involved in the Federal Building renovation project at SERA's co-located office.
His professional interests are focused on sustainability, new technologies, and understanding everything from the big picture to the smallest detail . He enjoys working in 3D environments, and has made his peace with Revit. His personal interests include (but are not limited to) hiking, camping, music, hockey, gardening, board games, and reading (and watching) non-fiction - anything from the natural sciences to biotechnology, psychology, philosophy, mythology, etc. A self-professed nerd, his favorite authors include Kurt Vonnegut, E.O. Wilson, Michael Pollen, and Joseph Campbell. He is a drummer in two local bands, and plays street hockey on the weekends.
