SERA worked with the Portland Development Commission and Sage Hospitality to renovate the landmark Meier & Frank building into a mixed-use development to include a luxury hotel with 334 guest rooms, meeting rooms, a ballroom, restaurant and roof-top lounge above a five-floor retail department store.
The building underwent an extensive seismic upgrade using steel braced frames with viscous dampers to absorb the energy of an earthquake. The project also involved the integration of two new mechanical, electrical and fire and life safety systems into the building.
The building is on the National Register of Historic Places. The hotel has achieved LEED Silver Certification. |
