SERA worked closely with students and staff to tailor three residence halls to fit the specific needs of the college. Each of the new buildings houses 54 to 60 students in double and quadruple bedroom apartments, providing generous accommodations for Lewis & Clark's growing, on-campus resident population.
Acknowledging the college's environmental mission, the design carefully places the buildings on a steeply sloped site while preserving existing trees. A village plaza located along the main circulation spine provides a central social space for the student residents. The relaxed and informal residence halls have meet the LEED rating standards of the U.S. Green Building Council by using sustainable construction methods and resources. They have been awarded a LEED V2 Silver Rating.
